You want to leave me for the weekend? You must be kidding...

Well, we didn't make it very far into flu season, and the timing couldn't have been better! This past weekend Kristen's parents drove up for a little visit. They graciously offered to watch Paige while we escaped for two nights to Monterey. They arrived on Thursday afternoon and we all had a fun time at the Farmers' Market. Check out my new kicks (velcro Adidas tennis shoes) from Grandpa and Grandma! Now I can run even faster from my parents!
Paige is attempting to ride the horse on the carousel, but they had to move to one of the benches before the music started.
Seemingly right on cue, Paige threw up right before bedtime on Thursday night. (Yes, this is the first time ever she has thrown up...saved it for our one weekend getaway.) She slept well that night, but proceeded to throw up again the next morning. After getting through Friday without any more incidents, Paige seemed to be on the mend. Brian and I left on Saturday morning as planned.

We had a wonderful day -- saw some friends, ate at our favorite sushi place, and walked around in the brisk 50 degree temps. Paige had a good Saturday too -- seemed to be back to her old self AND her regular eating habits...which the grandparents regretted around 2 am... The next morning when we checked in -- we found out that Paige had caused everyone to have a rough night. Since she had a fever on Sunday and we didn't want them to have to endure round 2 on Sunday night, we came back a little early. Sigh...
We had a great day in Monterey, and we were incredibly grateful to my parents for spending a tough night with the little one.
Goodbye Grandma and Grandpa! Thanks for taking good care of me!
